چکیده

This study aims to evaluate the performance of Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT), a simple Auto-Regressive with eXogenous input (ARX) model, gene expression programming (GEP)-based model in one-day-ahead discharge prediction for upper Kentucky River Basin. Calibration models were carried out period 2002–2005 using daily flow at stream gauging station unaffected by regulation. Validation calibrated executed 2008–2010 same along another 88 km downstream. GEP provided best calibration (coefficient determination (R) value 0.94 Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE) 0.88) validation (R values 0.93 0.93, NSE 0.87 0.87, respectively) results two stations. While SWAT performed reasonably well 0.85 0.72), its somewhat degraded 0.82, 0.65 0.65, stations). ARX very 0.92, 0.82) 0.88 0.76 0.85) Research suggest that sophisticated hydrological could be outperformed data-driven has advantage generate functional relationships allows investigation complex nonlinear interrelationships among variables.

Weathering in the Subtropical Enoree River Basin, South Carolina, Usa

The effect of watershed spatial scale on chemical weathering is inadequately known for subtropical environments. In order to determine the relationship between watershed scale and weathering chemistry, the Enoree River basin was sampled at seven different spatial scales ranging from second-order watersheds smaller than 2 km^2 to a sixth order watershed of 1840 km^2. The second-order watersheds ...

A spatiotemporal data model for river basin-scale hydrologic systems

Despite a long history of synergy, current techniques for integrating Geographic Information System (GIS) software with hydrologic simulation models do not fully utilize the potential of GIS for modeling hydrologic systems. Part of the reason for this is a lack of GIS data models appropriate for representing fluid flow in space and time. Here we address this challenge by proposing a spatiotempo...

River Flow Simulation Using SWAT Physically Based Model in Barandouzchay of Urmia Lake River Basin

Nowadays, there are too many models in the world for simulation of hydrological processes, such as the SWAT physically based model. The SWAT model is a continuous and physically based hydrologic model that is the smallest unit in this model is Hydrologic Response Unit, and all hydrological processes are simulated in each of these units. This model can simulate runoff, sedimentation, erosion and...

A River Basin over the Course of Time: Multi-Temporal Analyses of Land Surface Dynamics in the Yellow River Basin (China) Based on Medium Resolution Remote Sensing Data

The Yellow River Basin is one of China’s most densely-populated, fastest growing and most dynamic regions, with abundant natural resources and intense agricultural production. Major land policies have recently resulted in remarkable landscape modifications throughout the basin. The availability of precise regional land cover change information is crucial to better understand the prevailing dyna...

Analyzing Climate Zooning and Climate Change Effects on Discharge of Jajrood River Basin

In this study, for climate zoning and determining the effects of climate change on discharge of Jajrood River Basin, data from 9 available stations in Jajrood River Basin were used. In order to create climatic zones in the Jajrood River Basin, multivariate cluster analysis was used. To validate the data, discriminant analysis was employed. For investigating the effects of temperature and precip...
